This side dish reminds me of those days when my mum would spend all her morning chopping garlics and shredding the dried fishes, when every corner smelled fishy and I would wait for her to be done with so I could eat it!! She used to make and store this in a big glass jar, and used it with stir fries and mostly when the tarkari(curry) were not so likeable!!

I will share the simplest version of making this, it's a simple version, but trust me I haven't compromised the taste!!

For this deliciously done Shredded Fish, we will need:

INGREDIENTS:

The preparations: takes only 10 min to prepare and another 10 to cook, mix and preserve!!

1 Dry Fish Fillet, rip it thin (easily available in Asian Groceries)

1 whole Garlic, julienned

1/2 lemon juice

1 Tbl spn chilli paste (I use my homemade paste with chillies, garlic and oil. other will do too)

3 tbsp Oil

2 tsp salt

METHOD:

1. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan, when hot, fry the garlic for 2/3 minutes and let it turn brown, take it out and set aside,

2. Similarly, add in rest of the oil and fry the shredded fish for 3/4 minutes, when it turns brown take out and add to the fried garlic,

3. Add the salt, chili paste, squeeze the lemon, use your hand to give it a good mix.

DONE!!

Note: save it in a jar or serve it now, use it as a side dish or garnish, cook with your fried rice, noodle or stew!!

Enjoy Eating!! xoxo
